I am trying to back up my P90X workout dvds, and I use the process of dvdfab, fixvts, dvd shrink, and imgburn. I have had four successful burns, but now all i get are I/O errors. I have a Dell Latitude D610 with a Sony DVD+-RW DW-D56A PDS7, and I am using Sony DVD-R discs. I am not sure why it just all of a sudden stopped working after I had four successful burns. Any help would be very much appreciated. Hi, I 00:24:33 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: SONY16D1) (Speeds: 2x) It sounds like your media is outdated. Perhaps it is time to purcuhase some newer media (as Sony 16x media). 2x media has not been around for a while, and your drive may not support it. Jo
I just bought these discs and it says that it supports 1x to 16x. My burner is quite old (about 4 years) and in imgburn it says that the supported write speed is 2x, so i set it to 2x. I had an older firmware of PDS3 and just updated to PDS7. I had one successful burn with PDS3 and a couple successful burns with PDS7 (after I made sure DMA settings were correct). Could it just be that by burner is too old? Thank you. I really appreciate your help.
Hi again, if possible could you borrow an external burner and retry. If the media works, then it is likely your drive is too old and is in need of replacement. And you are so welcome ! Jo
