Hi, I may have posted this in the wrong place so please ignore if this is the case.

I've tried to encode several movies that all appear to be in either DIVX, XVID or AVI format. I have used several programs (TMPENG, DVDSANTA, WINAVI, CUCUSOFT AVI to DVD etc). The problem is always the same (exactly the same).

The movie plays fine on my pc within Windows Media player in its original format but once I try to convert it using one of the above programs, the resulting movie (before its even burnt to DVD) tends to have a slight pause every second or so. It also tends to skip and jump alot making it impossible to watch. The audio is fine and the movie quality is fine, its just this annoying pausing and skipping.

Of course when I do burn the movie to DVD its jumping and skipping all over the place as well. However as this happens before I have burnt it I'm assuming the problem is with my pc or the software I have.

I have tried to download various codecs as advised by different sources and have recently download the All in 1 codec pack. I also recently downloaded a DIVX codec total pack.

I view details of the movie through Avicodec first and it reports no problems.

My pc is a fairly good spec P4 3ghz HT processor, 1gb ram, 256 Nvidia Grahics Card, Windows XP Professional SP2, 160gb HD.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to try DivFix. It's free so... :)
