problems getting subs to display.

    ok, ive installed direct vob sub and also vs filter or whatever its called. my files are named the same and my subtitle file is a .sub. nothing happens when i press alt+s in windows media player, media player classic, zoom or vlc player. could someone point me to a really good step by step faq so i can get this right? or just shed some light on the matter. its an xvid.avi btw. thanks

    VSFilter contains directvobsub. It is all you should need and isn't needed at all for MPC or VLC. Just name the subs the same and it should work. For MPC you need to have the output set to VMR7/9 or Haali's renderer.

    If you just have a .sub, then it needs to be microdvd format. Not half of a VOBSub. In that case you also need the .idx file.

    ok, you are a fricken genius. so simple. im such a fricken idiot. i stumbled through the subtitles folder in winace (thanks for your shockingly bad product dunguses) and took out the subs as people never mention the idx. you guys rock!!
