Hi im new to the DVD backup scene just got my Burner today, instaled it on my system (P3 800mhz, 512mb, runnin winXP, NTFS) The DVD-R reads dvd's no problem but when its time to burn the backup it doesnt work, ive tried a few different programs so far and no luck. The program that got closest was DVD Decrypter...which brings me to my question....as i tried to burn my backup i first put it on test mode and it worked fine, then i unticked test and straight away i recieved this error message: I/0 Error Device: [1:0:0]Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D 1.08 (F ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 2A 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 20 00 Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 768 - 799 Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 21 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Invalid Address for write Any ideas what this is? can someone point me in the right direction because im so lost right now! Thanks
It looks like an error 10 write error. What media are you using? Did it burn anything at all to the disc. The burner will always claibrate itself with a disc at the start of each write, but this isnt a calibration error. It seems to have hit a problem attempting to write to the sector. If you can tell us if it actually wrote anything to the discs it would be handy. Thanks Chris
I have a DVR-106D as well. When I selected Test, though, it said that the DVR-106D doesn't support test mode and will actually burn the DVD anyway. Maybe you're using a older version of DVD Decrypter?
I have found the problem, seems that my burner only likes DVD+R Cd's not the DVD-R, dunno why cause apparently its compatible to both... Can anyone tell me if i the cd's i tried to burn on the DVD-R would be stuffed up???... Cause i wanna take em back where i got em from cause they gave me the wrong ones!
If you are saying the drive doesn't like +R DVD's, then the drive may need a firmware update. It should take either type blank media. Latest firmware is 1.07 I think. Jerry Sorry, I see you are at 1.08 already. I missed that.
Latest firmware official is 1.08 from the Pioneer Website. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]For DVD Back up info: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk http://www.dvd-backup.tk For User Guides/Downloads: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm [/small]
