I have a 64GB USB flash drive and am having problems playing video files direct from the drive. My PC will play the files within the first 4GB of the USB drive but any files after that won't play?? All the movie files i am trying to play when played direct from my PC's hard drive The same happens on my 16GB USB drive Anyone any ideas?
I know there is a 4GB limit for any one particular file on a Fat32 file system disk - but you are allowed multiple files of 4GB, so I cannot see why it would be a problem. Is it Vista or XP? You can convert the drive to NTFS file system - like your 'c' drive - but that may cause a problem if the drive is being connected to a standalone DVD player which is expecting a Fat32 device.
Higher bandwidth video files require to much speed a flash drive is capable of, even the newer ones on full usb2 speed has lag/shuttering issues. Its just the nature of some flash drives to be funny about streaming data.
