Hi, I would be most gratful if someone could help. I,ve had my Starview box (Genuine) for around 2years, I,ve had to reflash only once, with no problems. However, the other day I kept getting the message "scrambled or bad channel", I thought no problems I'll reflash and all will be well. I connected my starview box to the pc ,using RS 232 cable as I had done preciously. I downloaded the file Starview_h20070607_api.zip (to my desktop) extracted the file to a bin file, opened GTRom v4.00 and tryed to download as I had done previously. It starts downloading 0% and then comes up with the message "Flash update fail". I think that there maybe a problem with my pc port, so I use a friends PC to try to download to my starview. I get the same message "Flash update fail". I've tryed different files to download, with always the same message. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem could be.

What version are you reflashing to it and where did you get both the loader and firmware as it may be corrupt.

I'm flashing to API ver : 2.57e_E, Boot ver: 7.0. I got the loader (GTRom v4.00) on a disc when I bought my starview. I got the firmware from www.satdownloads. I have also tryed GTRom v4.00 and firmware from 4shared.com and the same happens; I get downloading 0% and then "Flash update fail".

Are you using the correct null modem cable and or null modem/usb adapter combo?
