problems ripping

    I was woundering if I could get some help here... I am able to rip some dvds to avi and mpeg format but where the problem is I get no sound? I cannot figure this out and have been driving myself crazy all day. Please can help me get this solved.

    There are a number of different possibilities. Is there a specific guide you are following, have you looked at the avi's with GSpot to see if you have the required codecs?

    @wormy1, I don't really understand your question, you said YOU rip the DVD's to AVI's and MPG's, now if you are the one doing the ripping and encoding, then all the codecs you used for encoding should be there for playback as well.

    So what you are saying doesn't make sense logicaly, especialy with MPG, which MPG ? 1 or 2 ? how are you encoding ? please provide more information so it will be easier to assist.

    I am trying toi use flaskmpeg.. When i use this the program freezes. Then when i go on the net and start using any other program i find... It will start the process of making avi and oir mpeg and when it's done. It will have no sound. I am sorry if I made no sense.. I just am new at this. I have tried both mpeg 1 and mpeg 2.
