    Hi
I have ripped Sherlock Holmes A Game Of Shadows using DVDFAB which went ok, no problems.
When I open DVD Shrink and click open files and find the VIDEO_TS folder to select, an error appears: Dvd Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
    Failed to open F:\Sherlock Holmes\Full Disc\ VIDEO_TS\VIDE0_TS.VOB
The drive cannot find the sector requested.
Anyone got any ideas what is going wrong? I normally do the above and it finds what it is meant to do and you can see the film while it is reading it and then I just press start.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

From Past experiences,DVD Shrink Doesn't work with some newer movies, due to the copy protection on DVD. Updates for DVD Shrink ended around 2005. I even tried using ANYDVD in the background and DVD Shrink and still doesn't work.

There are other free programs and there are programs you can buy.

http://www.slysoft.com <----- free 21 day trial ,then if you like it,you can buy it.

http://www.dvdidle.com <----- Free program but I dont use it,since i fell in love with Anydvd.

Disregard all this.. I totally read your post wrong :0) But still try the slysofy products.

DVD shrink is an old and outofdate program.
It was great back it the days (I used it to shrink DVD movies)but they stop doing updates and it has become obselete.
I would suggest you try programs like slysoft, DVDFav, WinXDVD copy.

There is a lot of programs out there to copy a DVD, you should try looking around which one suits you best.

Out of date, my ass. It still does exactly what it's been programmed to do. Just because the studio jackasses keep coming up with new copy protections doesn't mean you can use Shrink after having ripped the disc in movie only mode with DVDfab for free.

    Thanks for everyone who posted.
I've been using DVDFab and DVDShrink and then IMGBURN for years, after someone posted on this site to use them.
Most of the time I have had no bother and they have worked a treat until this film.
I will continue to use them, unless someone can suggest other programs, which are free of course, not trials, with ripping films, why pay for programs, I might as well pay for the dvd! lol so I want freeware programs and then I just get the films from friends or the local library to copy.
So if anyone knows of good free programs which are better than the above programs (dvdfab, dvdshrink and imgburn) then please let me know.
    Thanks

It sounds like the rip using DVDFab wasn't very clean. You may want to use either FixVTS or Vobblanker to clean up your rip before using DVD Shrink.
