    Hi
I'm a Nero 7.0.5 user. I use to transcode files with Nero Vison. Lots of times the files are about 5 GB to 5.5 GB . To much for a 4.5 GB DVD. So I use Nero Recode to make a 4.5 GB file with a litle lost of quality but the result is fine. This works great! The problem is when I try to do the same thing with larger files. I try to transcode DVD files with about 10 or 11 GB (4 hours in standard quality) to make a final file (with Menus) and than recode it to record in a DVD DL 8.5 GB. With Nero Recode I havn't problems but Nero Vison return me an error with problems of space and it don't transcode the files. Have you a solution for this?
    Best regards.

You need to use a better trancoding and/or encoding program
when your compressing over 6 gb onto a dvd-5.
Dvd shrink is one option that is free but will not result in
the best quality but does work at a high speed.

For the BEST quality possible I recommend using DVD rebuilder (DVD-Rb),
And CCE (Cinema craft Encoder) for the encoding and the burn.
I will briefly explain the difference between DVD-rb and other
programs and what make it so much better.

What's the difference between DVD-RB and Other 1 Click programs?

Most 1 click tools are compressed domain transcoders. What this means in English is that they simply remove enough information from the video on a DVD to make it small enough to fit on a blank disc. Instead of using that approach, DVD-RB re-encodes the video from scratch. The advantage to this approach is that a good MPEG encoder will do a better job of distributing the bitrate, both between frames and between different pixels in the same frame, in a way that maintains as much quality as possible from the original.

You can download an installer for DVD-RB Free here:
    http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=77

If you're going to use either CCE Basic or CCE SP to encode you can find more information in our software section.
    CCE Basic: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/c...
CCE SP 2.50 (Recommended for PIII/Athlon/Athlon XP Processors): http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/c...
CCE SP 2.7x (Recommended for P4/Athlon64 Processors): http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/c...

It terms of quality (EXPECIALLY in compression of 25% or more),
It gets no better than DVD-rb using CCE for encoding.

Thanks for your help. Now I'm a new user of DVDDecrypter and DVD-RB. And I have new problems...!
    1. No one of that aplications recognize the .mpg files ripped by Nero Vison. This is normal?
    2. And what about Menus? Without Nero Vison how can I have DVDs encoded with DVD-RB with Menus? Do you know something about the possibilities of DVD-RB Prof to make DVDs with Menus?
    3. With Nero Vison I can make my own DVDs from diferent pieces of files. And with DVD-RB, can I do the same?
(Sorry if this questions are out of this forum)
    Best regards.
