Hello everyone. I keep trying to update to the latest firmware, but whenever I try to use the Gen D installer, it just goes to a black screen and stays there until I turn it off. I have been able to get to Gen B, no problem, although B2 doesn't seem to want to show itself on the System Information screen. Regardless, I have tried many methods, including using the Hellcats Recovery, doing flash1 and resetting, and going back to 5.00 M33 (my original) and moving back up. Do you guys have any suggestions for me? Thanks!

you have to do the b2 in order to go to d, make sure you put the b2update folder in psp-games when you go to games if you do not see the updater you do not have the folder put in properly. make sure you only have one folder the b2 when unpacked has an extra folder in it so open the folder inside there is another folder that says the same thing copy only that folder into games folder. not the double one.

In PSP\Games, I have a folder that says 5.50-genB2-update with the EBOOT and flasher files inside of it. Is that the layout?

It says "Done with success", but under System Information, it still says 5.00 M33-6.

I already did this, as I said in my first post, and I just did it again to no avail.

It says 5.50 Gen-B (Full) at the moment. I tried doing B2, but it still shows the same thing under System Info.

download this file, unpack it open your psp with usb, go to psp game copy the inside folder of this file in your game folder. there should only be one folder not 2 when you unpack it there are 2 folders that says b2 update copy only the inside that has the actual files in it. close usb go to games udate when that is done do this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1840, psp game gen-d, when that is done do this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1841. that should get you as up to date as possible until december the 15th.

Is there a certain way you're supposed to install Gen D? Because I did this before, and it gave me a black screen. I just did it again, and the same result. Please let me know if there are settings I need to change. Thanks!

DrZack, I am having the EXACT same problem as you. Have you gotten it to work yet??

It says 5.50 Gen-B (Full). I tried doing B2, (It tells me it updated fine) but it still shows the same thing under System Info.

I wish someone could help us with this, I'm glad it's not just me!!

i would suggest that you use recovery to go back to m33 and then start over making sure you do gen-a first then b, b2, d, d2 and then tuesday d3. if you installed b without doing a first there has been issues reported about updating to b2. hope this helps.

Unfortunately, I have already done the method, as I mentioned in my first post. I went back to 5.00 M33 with Hellcats Recovery, and then did it sequentially, but no dice. :(
