    Hello,

I use Adobe Premier 6.0 also but with WIndowsME - from my experience the lack of cound could be for one of three reasons.

    1. Make sure that your drivers are current for Premier.

    2. If you have imported the video from an external souce sich as a VCR recorder - make sure that the input jacks are disconnected - I have run into this problem because I have inadvertantly left the input plugs attached to my firewire/sound card.

    3. AVI files are really a generic term for a filetype - but the problem is that there are many versions of AVI and the success of being able to play a given video rests upon your having the correct Codec installed AND having done that in Premiers Properties Setting (General and Video) making sure that codec is selected.

    Hope this helps,
    Ken
