i havent got much experience in burning/converting dvd films but i use dvd santa to convert (if thats the right word) my avi files before burning them, problem is i am finding that a lot of my downloads wont work in dvd santa. is this a problem with the files or is it a problem with dvd santa? is there something else i can use instead of this software? any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you p.s im a newbie, so go easy on me!!!

    hi

i dont rate dvd santa's quality, but use divxtodvd its free and fast and keeps small files sizes...

it will output vob/ifo/bup which you can burn in nero say useing tab button ADD-Video

you can load multiple avi or multiple mpeg in divxtodvd to

    hi

ok the first set of files you got out of divxtodvd, load them to dvd shrink to make an iso and set dvd shrink to burn with dvd decrypter burn engine! (no need to see or load dvd decrypter yourself!) it only uses the engine but both apps need to be installed!

but going this way its all free apps! ;-])

any probs just post back anytime mate!

HI am new to converting avi to dvd also.

I have tried dvdsanta and have downloaded divxtodvd now.

My problem is that I am trying to convert several avi files and put them on 1 dvd, but after hours of decoding on dvdsanta and divxtodvd, my machine crashes.

There are 6 files on avi. Would it be better for me to encode each file and then burn them all onto DVD once they have been decoded individually?

Should I use the process as described on this post to put onto DVD?

    hi

load all 6 at once to divxtodvd, it will make 1 film and they will play one after the other! it outputs vob/ifo/bup for burning in say nero on add-video tab, but just make sure the output size isnt over 4.38gig or you will need to compress before burning but use dvd shrink for this then burn the files!
