i have a HP external dvd burner that i have had since last Christmas. And now for the last week or so it comes up with this error message: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid DVD navigation structure.
With this message i have been able to bure some dvds and others come up with that message before it can analysis it. Now is my burner fucked or is this fixable.

    LOL.

"Invalid DVD navigation structure." Is usually a copy protect error. Shrink is a little outdated.

You can continue using it (Shrink) perfectly fine if you run AnyDVD in the background. You eventually have to pay for it, but Shrink works fine when you run the two programs together, and a little faster than some of the alternatives listed here.

If you don't mind spending a few bucks then AnyDVD is definately the way to go.

If you want to stay freeware, the above programs are just fine.

OK so i took your advise and i downloaded dvd decrpyter, ripit4me, and FixVTS1.6 however im having some problems. First it says 4 step one that: Your FixVTS path points to , but it should point to FixVTS.exe
THen in step three it says: DVD Shrink encountered an error and can not continue. Invalid filename the system could not find the file specified.
THen i click ok and Ripit4me aborts.

It means that you did not have the right path via RipIt4Me to FixVTS correctly, therefore FixVTS did not clean the ripped files and that is why DVD Shrink is throwing up (encountered an error and can not continue).

Did you download "RipIt4Me Installer" or RipIt4Me & FixVTS separately? Is your path set up just like this? This is taken directly from my guide.
