hi there, can anyone help. i bought a customised computer from someone, but his harddrive died and was replaced. since it was his main drive, im havinmg to reload and set back up everything. drivers, hardware, etc. lots of problems, one is with dvd burner. not adknowledging my blank discs when i put them in for a copy. it will copy the whole movie taking about an hour, then ask for me to put a blank in, and it doesnt read it. start button never turns green. i am using dvd x copy xpress 4.0.3.8 and my dvd burner is a toshiba dvd-rom sd-r5002 if that helps.

Have you tried to see if your burner recognizes the Original DVD Disk? If it does then it's the blank media you are using, not being recognized by your burner.

You could try over at the Xcopy thread

    http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/

There may be more info pertaining to your problem. Have you used the drive select before you put the blank disk in, also your burner may not like the media you are using, Xpress can be funny about what brand it likes.

thanks, it does recognize the original dvd, but not the blank. the thing is i have tried two different types of dvd-r's. neither worked. (philips & sony) and tried both -r & +r too.

    Try ....

    Running drive select
    updating your firmware
    installing an aspi layer.

Also you need to use the XCopy forum for XCopy questions. http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com
