ok I put my pioneer 107D DVD+-RW Drive in an external encloser through usb 2.0 (made by Bytecc). It seems to work fine except when burning dvd's. i am trying to make a copy of a dvd and it gives me an error. It says : SCSI command aborted It basically burns 1% and makes the blank unusable again?? thanks for your help in advance. kevin
Hi, It appears there's some sort of problem communicating to your drive. Are all of the connections seated properly? Are your USB drivers up to date? Does your PC support USB 2.0? What software and methods are you using to burn DVDs?
yes i got usb 2.0, im using dvd shrink and nero, i have used this burner many times before on this computer (dell desktop) and have just put it in an encasing. i am doing nothing diffrent then before, just using the encasing. My computer recongnizes the burner and everythign. i just dont knowe what to do kevin
Hi, Do you have access to a different PC with which you could test the drive in? This could verify if it's the drive/casing or your PC
Hi, I have the same problem...seams to be generic as I have been seraching and found many people with the same problem and we all have different burners. I have the SONY DVD RW DRU-510A Writer. Here is a log file from Nero...I have cut out a lot of it as I assume most of it is irrelavant ----------------------------------------------------- 21:43:09 #25 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 8128 ---- DVD Structure: Physical Format Information (00h) Layer: 0, Address: 0 (0 h), AGID: 0; Length: 2050 Book Type: DVD-R (2), Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120 mm, Maximum Rate: <not specified> (F h) Number of Layers: 1, Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP), Layer Type: recordable Linear Density: 0,267 um/bit, Track Density: 0,74 um/track Starting Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 30000 h (DVD-ROM, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW) End Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 0 h End Sector Number in Layer 0: 0 h Data in Burst Cutting Area (BCA) does not exist Start sector number of the current Border-Out: 0 h Start sector number of the next Border-In: 0 h Media Specific [16..63]: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 21:43:12 #26 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1294 21:43:12.187 - SONY DVD RW DRU-510A\H3 T2 : Queue again later 21:43:17 #27 SCSI -500 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1442 SCSI Exec, HA 3, TA 2, LUN 0, buffer 0x03E10000 Status: 0x02 (0x03, SCSI_ABORTED) HA-Status 0x10 (0x0A, SCSI_HASTAT_REQUEST_SENSE_FAILED) TA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST) Sense Code: 0x26 Sense Qual: 0x02 CDB Data: 0x2A 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x08 0xC0 0x00 0x00 0x20 0x00 0x00 0x00 Sense Data: 0xF0 0x00 0x05 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x26 0x02 21:43:17 #28 CDR -500 File Writer.cpp, Line 304 SCSI command aborted SONY DVD RW DRU-510A\H3 T2 ------------------------------------------------------ I am also using a laptop with external USB2. I think makes are irrelavant as this problem is happening more often. I have read to use the ForceASPI, this does not help. I have read to update the USB Drivers through windows update, but it is not available to be installed when I try to do so. I have used Pinncale studio 9 to burn a video dvd - This did work, but it was only at 1x ... and it was the compilation of ahome videos. I have tried with both data and video using Nero, Alcohol 120% and Veritas software, but all fail, either in the beginning or near the end. Has anyone solved this? ThanX in advance for any replies! Ciao Brad
i solved it. Thoes things are crap, i even tried an upgraded version on it. one with usb and firewire. worked till like 10%. I just went to best buy and bought a lite on external, $150, i get it for 130 since i work there. it does +R at 8X. thats all i nned. works fine through usb 2.0. kevin
OKay, so the problem seams to be with 3rd party combinations of external drives and cases?! Crap ThanX! Brad
i have same problem sincec i updated to the lastest nero on the website,it works fine for + but i only get an scsi comand aborted while using -
I have the same problem with external burner connected by USB2.0 (USB1.1 is fine!). I saw many posts on the web saying that dvd+r disks are ok, and the problems only happens with DVD-R. I don't have any DVD+R disks at home right now. I will try them later.
i fix my problem even though it took me a long time,i reformatted my hard drive.then installed nero but not the lastest update. now it work fine.(or should i say my 1st burn went ok)with no scsi command aborted im going to try to update a little bit at a time to see if can pinpoint the problem, next would be win xp2 and then nero
my dru510a has had the same problem.. i don't understand why it would work for so long with the same media then just stop.. the common thread seems to be the "queue again later" that all the logs have: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: -
