About a month ago, I tried updating my Nero 6 Ultra Edition by downloading the updates via the site. However, after installing both update packages #1 and #2 I found that I could not run Nero. I would get an error message telling me that the software has encountered a problem and needs to close. NeroVision Express worked once for me and I was able to explore the features. But whenever I went to run it the next time I got an error message. I found that whenever I unistalled Nero Vision Express, Nero Burning ROM would work again. I would like to be able to burn my movie files directly to DVD without having to convert them first. In order to do this I installed a demo version of Nero 7 Ultra Edition and was able to burn some of my video files to DVD. But now the demo has expired and I don't know how to reinstall to the previous version. Nero 6 came with my computer but I have the serial number. How do I reinstall the previous version I had and how do I overcome the problems I have when I update it? Thanks!

You need to run the clean tool for both nero 6 and 7. If you did not, then you did not do a clean uninstall.

    Nero 6 clean tool...

    Nero 7 Clean tool...
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Then do a reboot(a reboot is like flushing the digital toilet), and re-install this version of Nero 6. It doesn't have any bugs.

    Here is the app..

    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

    Then reboot again.

It should work. If not, then try a system restore to the date before you updated.

Thanks for your help! I did everything you said and it worked. Thanks again. But now I have another problem. I want to create a DVD from various video files such as MPG and AVI without having to convert them to VOB or another DVD format. This is why I had downloaded the try version of Nero 7. However now I have downloaded NeroVision Express 3 but it won't let me do this with my video formats because I need to buy a DVD-video plugin. I would like to know if a later version of NeroVision automatically does this or do I need to download/buy another program?

[P.S. I apologize in advance if I've broken any rules that I don't know of]

    Read here...

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/DVD_Video_Plug_In.html

    It states(and I quote..) *ahem*

As long as you downloaded Nero Vision 3, you should be good...

I checked out the site and it does state as you said. However, whenever start up Nero Vision Express 3 and I point to Make CD and try to go to other video formats it says that
Then it gives me a link to purchese the DVD-plugin. The same thing occured when I checked the link you posted. It said that it
but then underneath it it has a buy now button. Why is it telling me this if it is already installed in the update I installed?

Dunno... I assume it means any other format besides MPEG-2?
