problems with nero recode

    i am trying to convert dvd to mpeg-4 with nero recode off nero 8. the computer says it has completed. My dvd player will play divx. Is this not the same type of format? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the recoded file to play on my player

    does your player play xvid/mpeg4 ?

    not really sure, it has the divx symbol on the front and the box said divx certified. i thought divx was mpeg-4 so i assumed it would play the nero mpeg-4

    divx i think is the older type format, Xvid is the newer mpeg4

    go to makers website of the drive and check specs....
