I have psr 40 gb its fine noiseless but in assasins creed it just freezes too often I don't know why but its only this game I have experienced it. My ps3 is about a month old I'm thinking of changing it or asking a refund I can't play with it. I can't upgrade it to 60 gb or 80 gb because in australia there is only 40 gb. I checked the scratches in the disk there were none it was clear. IS IT THE PROBLEM WITH THE GAME OR THE CONSOLE

Have you downloaded the update for the system and for the game? I heard that you need to download the latest game update to stop AC from freezing. To do this, you will need to make sure your ps3 is linked to a wireless internet.

I also have a 40 gb and am from Australia. I have played AC with no problems at all... but i have the latest update.

    hope this helps

You need your ps3 signed into PSN first then when you load the game it will come up and download it.

My ps3 version is 2.10. Isn't this the latest one. You mean to say that I need to download the update of the game.

lemnur, the 2.1 is the latest firmware upgrade for your PS3, but for Assassin's Creed, there is a game update that needs to be downloaded. If your PS3 is connected to the PSN (Playstation Network), and you load up the game, the system will prompt you to update the game before it lets you play.

So make sure your console is hooked up to your wireless network (if not, go to a friends house and borrow his), sign in to PSN (if you have never signed in, you will need to create an account, which is outlined in the instruction manual I think) and when that is all done, load the game and wait for the download.
