I have several personal home videos of my daughter I want to put on a DVD and sent to my mom back home. Problem is that they are on WMV files. I am using Nero 8 and the Create and Edit option from Smart Start. Then I am using the "Author, Edit and Capture Video' option. Then clicking on Make DVD. Then DVD-Video. Then I am adding the files and burning it to the DVD. The problem is that the audio is not coming in when I try it on any DVD player I have (computer or regular DVD player). There is audio when I am playing the video files directly from my computer, but when I put it on to the DVD itself to play there is no audio what so ever. So what do I do to fix this audio problem?
I don't have Nero installed at present. If you output to the hard drive (instead of burning to disk) you should be able to play back the files with your media player (file would be VTS_01_1.VOB). If the audio is still absent, try converting (and optionally burning) the files with DVD Shrink. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm In the Project Settings, set Video to PAL or NTSC (EU or North America).
