Hi guys Just got a new starview 2 box and cant get any channels to work. I had no problems with my old box and belive i need to use software for the channels to work on this box. Also the 1570 in the menu does not work. Can anyone help me out? Cheers
Press Menu > System Information and tell us what the API is please and if you are in the UK or Ireland You will need version 4.50 firmware IRELAND for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. You will need version 4.51 UK firmware for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder. You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link. All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.
Do you have a NULL MODEM CABLE and a 9 pin port on your PC , as you need these to update the firmware
Yes trying to upload software now. What is the process ? Im stuck on the model name it comes up blank
Updating Firmware Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY. (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM) Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC. Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC. Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV Are you using the NULL MODEM CABLE plus a USB Adpater from a laptop or PC ?
