You know what I hate, Bum Raps, even suggestive ones, not a nice thing to say rick, especially after asking garmoon for help, he praised slysoft cause it's a hell of a good product, better than most, and I used many of them, spent money foolishly on many I thought were good, slysoft is worth every penny, you got fab and some others that are pretty good also, it's a preference. But before you either seriously or jokingly accuse somebody of something get to know the person or the facts first, and no I don't work for slysoft either, as I can assure you neither does garmoon.
As with anything else, it depends on what value you place on your time. Although I am quite capable of implementing/using any of the Freeware solutions discussed on this site, I use the ANYDVD/CloneDVD solution because it is a 7 click solution that has NEVER failed to produce a backup. I look at the posts in this forum and the time and effort that many of the posters take to get one "troublesome" backup working. I will also state that I am a legacy ANYDVD customer and covered under the "free lifetime" updates clause. Since updates are now charged on a yearly basis, some people may not be able to justify the value proposition. IMHO, nothing could be easier than the AnyDVD/CloneDVD solution and for ME is well worth the cost. As with anything, YMMV.
Thanks guys! Now I need to get back to the island to solve next week's DRMs. LOL @Rick6 You're doing something wrong or your pc is set up wrong, because I'm sure DVD Fab will do this movie by now also!
2 Questions... Which version of DVDFab did you use? Did you purchase this version or is it the free one? Thanks.
That's the first thing I tried and it didn't work. My copy of this movie is a the rented version purchased at Blockbuster. Is yours the rented version or the, made to sell to the public version? Thanks.
It should not matter. Did you look at the disc to see if there was a big chocolate fingerprint on the disc or that it is clean??
You can't keep insisting on get it done with the same PC you been trying so hard to make your back up with. You need to understand that all PC's have a diff Optical Drives and that they are Unique (Pain in the ass) and that is why so many people have problems on backing up Movies trying so hard and insisting of using only one PC to get the job done. The Solution is simple: TRY ANOTHER PC.....for sure the other PC will have a diff Optical Drive and you will be able to back up Movies more easily......Now if you have 3 or 4 PC's or Diff's Burners on your Tower.......you will be in better shape ! Good luck !
hello! I've got it!! This is what I did: You have to choose the "only Movie" and not "dvd to dvd" feature. The disc has like 88 different tittles, and most of them are "fake movies" if you decrypte the wrong one, it looks like is done, but when you put in in your dvd player, you'll find soon or later the movie gets frozen, or is playing the same chapter over and over. Only one of the tittles is the good movie. I've seen other forums, and some say is the tittle 50, others say is the 27. I tryied both, and they were bad. I think they must have done like different patterns depending the duplication date. I put the ORIGINAL dvd in my dvd player. The dvd player display was showing I was watching the tittle 31. And I guessed that was the rigth tittle. I run DVD fab before putting the movie in the PC. I choosed "Path Player only if needed" and I choosed "Movie Only" Then I put the movie in the computer. As soon as DVDfab finished to scan it, I could see all the tittles, but the number 31 was marked as the one I selected it (wich I didn't) by then, I was sure the 31 was the good one. (At least in my original movie) I pressed Start, and about 20 minutes later, the movie was in my computer. I opened it with dvdshrink. Turned off all the additional audio channels, and I've got like 85% quality. Backed up like ISO file. Burned it. I just watched it. All of it. IT WORKS FANTASTIC!!
GUSTAVOS - No rent & burn discussions here thanks. (I did see Rick6's comment "My copy of this movie is a the rented version purchased at Blockbuster.", i didn't comment on that as we all know that video stores do sell some copies of Rentals).
I discovered a older version of DVDFab (6.2.0.5) works fine for this movie, where as the newer version 6.2.2.0. would not work for this particular copy. Seems like DVDfab crew decided to remove the solution from their latest version, perhaps to inspire sales of their software. Thanks everyone for your help.
@GUS & Rick I don't know why it's hard for you guys to rip UP, but evidently DVDFab HD Decrypter did the job (ripped) flawlessly. UP has tons of useless junks and fake VTS and PGC... I have VobBlanker look at it and the real movie is VTS_18*.VOB (PGC # Seq 05), the rest are totally junks and previews. Best of luck to you both on your burning journey.
