I downloaded a movie from a newsgroup and everytime I try to convert it in Winavi but a pop up always shows up saying that windows encountered an error blah blah blah. The same thing also happens with Nerovision when I try to author it. Does this mean that there is something corrupt with the movie? I'm running on Windows XP.
The first thing to do is try to play the movie in WinMedia and see if it works. You probably don't have the right codec install.
Yes it works fine I use Nero's media program as well as VLC. I don't think this has anything to do with codec's as I thought they are usually just for viewing purposes, but I may be wrong. If someone can correct me if I'm wrong it would be freatly appreciated.
hi yes you need codecs to compress and decompress, i use k-lite mega pack only no others... also try film machine or avi2dvd both apps free and very damn good...
