Hi, I just bought a dvd package for decrypting but i'm having some problems. The original copy seems to decrypt ok but when I put the copied disc in my pc it just shows up what files are on the disc. And when i put the copied disc in my dvd player it comes up PBC OFF and wont play at all. Can anyone shed some light on this ? Would be very greatful.
what (package) did you buy. what applications are you using more info is needed but it sounds as if you wrote a data disc did you create an I.S.O. please respond with more info. there is a lot of wisdom here but you have to know how to access it. help us to help you
Hi, thanks for replying, The package I bought off the internet is dvdwizardpro. My comp is fairly new so it has all the latest dvdrw and so on. I'm only a novice to this so I dont know what an I.S.O file is. I thought once you decrypted the original and copied it to the blank disc it was finished. Is there something more I should do ?
I am unfamiliar with dvd wizard pro but it sounds like it just broke through the encryptionand copied the files to your hd you probably have a video ts file including a bunch of vob's ifo's amongst others if this so use a program such as dvd shrink (free)to create the iso. are you using dual layer media? if not this will condense the movie to fit on the less expensive single layer disk. after just use the wizard pro or similar app to burn
Hi, once again thanks 4 replying, The original copy is dual layerd if that what u mean. But for instance I just tried to copy a 30 min comedy and a whole load of info is comeing up when I put the copied disc in my pc, stuff like about 4 icons full of info. There's definitely something on the copied disc but it just wont play. I'll try downloading dvd shrink. It great, the package is supposedly full money back promise and asap online support and not once have I heard anything from them! If u have anymore suggestions plz let me know. Thanks
I don't know how much you paid for your software but here are a few suggestions. DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and DVD43 are all free downloads. There are guides off the guide tab at the page top to show how to use some of these. If you want to purchase a very good combination that can copy almost all dvd movies out there then download Clonedvd 2 and Anydvd. The cost for both together I think is $59. USD. Anydvd is the decrypting program that runs in the background. Clonedvd is the ripper, burner, and compressor and will let you edit out the junk from the dvd to allow for less compression and better quality. Anydvd has lifetime updates included once you purchase it. That way as new encryptions show up on the new dvd movies you will be able to back them up with the updated versions of Anydvd. Anydvd can also be used behind other programs. Just a suggestion. They both have a 21 day trial download to try them out and see if you like how they work. I think you will be impressed. Jerry
Hi, and once again thanks to those who have helped me out. I still have no joy with dvdwizardpro and the reply I received from their support was " Not all players support copied discs, Read your manual and see". Have to say really good support team! I took the advice I was given here by downloading dvd shrink and my only regret is that I didn't know about it sooner, so thanks again. secondly, any suggestions for downloading {video's} on p2p ? I tried a couple but i'm told my media player doesn't it ?
Downloaded video is usually in AVI format or one similar. Most downloads are not in dvd format so they need converted before you burn them. There are several programs that can do the conversion but the time involved is somewhat long. Expect several hours to convert depending on how long the movie is and the speed of your computer. Software and guides can be found off the tabs at page top. Jerry
Hi, I recently asked about downloading films from p2p and watching them, the problem was my media player was saying it didn't support it. I tried downloading a trial OSS video converter but that's saying " either this is not video or can't be supported". Any suggestions on any downloads or what I should do ?
Depending of the media player you may need to install extra codecs to play the type file you downloaded. Look at the file extension of the download, an example is the AVI we already talked about. You would then need the codec to play AVI files for your media player. Just do a google for your media player codecs and see what comes up. Jerry
I'll start that search soon, thanks jerry. Also could I ask you, I've just started using limewire p2p and I downloaded a game for my pc but can't seem to start it up. When I click on it, it says " would u like windows to try the web for the source". Any way I can play these games ?
I actually don't do much on any p2p networks. I am aware of what you are talking about. If Windows doesn't know how to open the file you downloaded, you get that message. Here again you have to look at the end file extension of what you downloaded. Could be AVI, RAR or several others. Then search for that file extension and you should find info on how to open it or what program you need to do so. Good luck. Jerry
