Probles with Media - firmware possible solution

    i have a nec nd1300 dvd writer and also 25 Datawrite Classics Redtop.
    When i try and burn using nero or any other program it says that the disk is illegal media and not supported.
    I have read on other forums that there are firmware updates that would allow you to burn more disks than origonally stated.
    Can anyone shed any light on this for me and maby a couple of links

    NEC 1300 is a +R writer that supports -R writing. With the -R writing i suggest you try using higher quality Riteks.
