ok so i'm all up and running and decided to play a bit so i downloaded the latest version of winserver to try and record some things, so i've got the winserver running on my pc which is connected via a router to the dbox setup the onscreen config and everything seems ok .. now when i hit the blue button then red (record) the screen goes blank and the dbox locks up. looking at the log file on winserver it says cannot find hostname although the hostname resolves ok - any ideas ?
"cannot find hostname"... appologies if it seems obvious, but have you set the i.p and port under settings (port should be 4000), can you ping your box? even more obvious, you have got winserver running when you try to record, right? try changing the recording engine aswell, personally i use UDRec, tho' i doubt that that's it. to be honest i don't use winserver that much, using my xbox hd instead (since it has more space). have you tried other alternatives such as VLCrape or Tuxvision, i don't think you can initiate recording from the dbox with these, rather from the p.c, if you can't find them pm me and i'll send them to you
