    YES

Encoders like Procoder2 will always give a better result when compared to transcoders like shrink at medium to very high compression.

    Have a look here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/343299

I am very happy with my purchase, Procder2 is the best encoder around IMO.

bigdave...most of the threads here have to do with using ProCoder2 with DVD-RB to reduce overall VOB file size. However, ProCoder2 has numerous other features used in video work which more than justify its price. For instance, it is one of the finest PAL/NTSC converters out there...wherein frames have to be added to a PAL mpeg (25 fps)in order to meet the NTSC standard (29.97). It will also convert just about any file type to another...such as mpeg to avi, DV, etc.
