New to the forums, did a search but couldnt find relavent information.

I have divx compatible dvd player and I want to watch a number of divx avi files I have. Problem arises when I burn (nero) to dvd and try to play the audio is unsynced, more noticable as the movie plays. I gspot the file and it has a fps of 23.97... and I was wondering if this is what is causing the problem? I convert to dvd and the same problem occurs, the only exception being when I have selected ntsc.

I live in Australia, and Pal is the norm over here. I just want to watch my xvid files on the vcr at the correct frame rate. Can anyone suggest a suitable program that will change fps only , i.e no other conversion needed, or is it more involved than this. Ive tried stoik video converter, but Im not having much luck.

Sorry for the noobie q's, its just really frustrating..

    Help appreciated

You could demux the audio, re-encode with BeSweet 23.976-->25fps, then remux with VirtualDubMod, changing the framerate to 25fps, but leaving the video on directstreaming. That would be the way with the least re-encoding.

I doubt that the framerate is the issue though. 23.976fps XviD avi's work fine on my standalone (also in Australia). Do you have your player set to PAL or auto?

mmm... If the answer is as simple as setting the player I am going to hang myself :)

The manual only lists something about country codes, Ill give that a go and get back to you.
