I need help!!!Can anyone tell me why my 4:3 screen turns into a 16:9 when i use progressive scan.I have a Acer PD116P projector, supports HDTV,1080i,4:3 aspect ratio.Everytime i use progressive scan it automaticly turns in 16:9.
As far as I know its due to "Progressive Scan" (480p, 720p, 1080p etc.) being an High-Definition signal. EDIT: Guess you learn something new everyday, ChiknLitl is probably right. Peace, Pop Smith
An HD signal does not necessarily equate to wide screen. I can watch Maury Povich or the local evening news at 1080i in full 4:3 aspect with black bars on the sides of my screen. They don't broadcast those in the 16:9 format. The aspect depends on the broadcasted signal. I would check projector settings for that input. What are you plugging into that input? Dvd, HDcable, HDdish, etc? It could be that the output of the box you are using is set to display in 16:9 format.
