I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with backing up the movie {proof}. Let me know, I would like to know if I should just use DVD Shrink with Nero, or if I should use DVDFab with VOBlanker. Thanks!

If you have AnyDVD then try just to use shrink. You can always preview before you start shrink. If you receive an error trying to open the disk in shrink then run DVDFab Decrypter. Make sure that if you have AnyDVD that it is turned off before running DVDFab.

After it is decrypted you may shrink it. Check for errors. If there are errors then either re-compose or open PGCEdit and remove bad cells.

With Nero you will be able to view before it is recorded. These steps I gave you are the first steps I always take, before I have to rely on more drastic measures.

I hope this helped! Good luck

clonedvd2 and anydvd in the background handles {proof} quite easily...

Proof works fine with DVDFab Decrypter first. After on HDD just use Shrink as usual. As always, I just do movie only. No need for anything else.

No, it needs to be run through DVDFab Decrypter first. The latest version of Fab is 2.9.7.2 .

BTW. Heard that 2962 is still in Beta phase. Any problems being reported for this beta version. Is this out for DVDfab decrypter - the free version??

    jamoskeag,

Version 2.9.7.2 is the free version of DVDFab Decrypter, not a beta version anymore. Even if it was beta version, I have never had any trouble with Fengtao's beta programs.

Go to DVDIdle.com and click on free stuff on the bottom of the page. Also you can go to CDfreaks.com, those forums are used by Fengtao, the author of DVDFab products. Here is the first place you will see mention of new versions.

As far as Proof goes, after I ran it through Shrink and went to select movie only, there was a pause. Instead of playing with it, I just ran it through DVDFab Decrypter first, then Shrink ran as normal with no problems.

Hey, I'm new at the Afterdawn forums. I recently purchased "Proof" and was able to back up this movie by using VOB BLANKER 2.1.0.0 in auto mode with AnyDVD 5.8.4.1 running in the backround. These two pieces of decrypting software are probably the most advanced combo available for ripping the loads of encryption found on this and other DVD's today. Using this same combo I was able to ripp the until receently impossible Menace II Society without editing, just set my input then output folders and then process, waited ten minutes and to my surprise backed up exactly like my original copy. recommended. Oh and don't forget NERO6. I look forward to sharing ideas and best practices with members here at "Afterdawn".

Could not do it with shrink alone.
Used DVDfab decrypter, then shrink, then nero.

Used DVD Region+CSS Free and shrink no problems, movie does have ripguard on it. As a side note does anyone have a comment on the movie itself.

On a scale of 1-10, ten being the best, I would give it a 3.
