Pros & Cons of ISO & CSO???

Dam, i posted this in the general forum and meant to put it here. So sorry if you feel you already read this.

So anyway i was asking...i have some games some are .iso, a few are .cso.
When making ISO's on UMDGen 4.0 i notice it asks if i want to save as Uncompressed (iso) or Compressed (cso).

I would naturally believe that .cso would be the way to go because it would compress the file to a nicer (i.e. Memory Stick friendly) size.

But then i notice most games are ripped to .iso format...so that has me wondering. Is there a reason why larger iso files are more popular than compressed cso's? Do cso's not run as well or harder to load or something? What's the pros and cons of both formats?

 

Their both really quite equal. From my experience with PSP and running .iso and .cso files the only difference if any is a minor performance loss in a game when running it with Devhook. Now generally everyone is running a custom firmware, and .cso runs just as well as .iso. This was with a game in particular so i really didn't notice much in other games. If your wondering why most games you download from torrents are all .iso is because people tend to go in and rip files and then compress them to save memory stick space. Some people, like myself, just compress them to .cso format. .cso is just a compressed .iso, so they are essentially the exact same just one is compressed the other isn't, so really I couldn't think of any pro's & cons between them.
