my recever keeps on displaying protection, how do i take it off?my recever is a sony str-d650z, a audio/vidio/control center. anyone help how to take it off, i turn it on with no speakers and 3 sec's later..."PROTECTION" keeps blinking HELP ME!!!!
happened to my piece of crap samsung home theatre too.took it to a repair shop and it was more to fix than to by a newer,better ht.
Usually, it's a strand of speaker wire touching something it shouldn't, that causes this. But, if it's happening with no speakers attached, it has to be an internal problem. As was said, it may be cheaper to buy another receiver, than fix that one. You can probably find a good deal, on a good receiver, on your local Craig's List. Good luck!
