hi , after lots and lots of homework i have decided to go for a protek ...Protek is a reciever of its own making,Any DM500s you buy(new) now will most certainly be a clone.
The Protek is the nearest thing you will get to plug/play however it requires a internet connection to get the most out of it.
they move a motorised dish very well when using usals.

just a warning there are cheaper versions out there(Maxx) which can be temperamental and not always do what they promise they can.
just a very small sample of what i have found out about these boxes

i need to no about the internet connection , mine is a broadband phone line connection to the back room of my house ( the office ) and where i want to put my new box is in the front room where the main tv is, i am wondering if it is possible to do this wirelessly , my son has an xbox 360 and his live works really well on a wireless connection. could this be done for a sat box( protex box) ,, if is is not possible are there any other ways i can do it .. looking forward to your replys ,

    many thanks john
