I recently burned a ps1 backup from romhustler.net I use alcohol 120% to burn the game. I burn it at 8x cause thats the lowest speed. When i play it on my fat ps2 (no mod,no nothing only slide card) It works only until the ps1 logo. Then it will not load anymore. Can any body help me? Do i have to burn it w/ 4x? I can only burn on 8x.

Test the game with an emulator on your pc, if it plays you know it's good, if it doesn't that means you got a bad copy.
    I'm banking on bad copy!
Ps games should be burned at 4x, any faster and there will be read problems.
What version ps2 do you have?

You need breaker pro, gameshark 2 v2 psx disc or PS1 Gameshark 4.1.
I haven't tried them personally but that's the only answers i've seen posted.

    Good luck.
Did you try using your emulator to run the game on your pc?

ePSXe works well, and supports most plugins. You need to play about with it.. and you may need a scph-10001 bios from somewhere.

To play a burned ps1 game on a ps2 you need a chip, or like already posted, very specific (and probably hard to find) ps1 bootdisks.
