why would sony try to sell more ps2's, just before the ps3 release, who would spend $130 on a ps2, just before the $600 ps3, especially when it is said the ps3 will have a ps2 chip inside it. It seems this would hurt future ps3 sales.
they will continue to make ps2 games and you can't say something as biased as everyone has a ps2 people will buy games that like if i saw a really good ps2 game and the ps3 was also out, but i had neither and i really wanted the game i would buy the cheapest option to play the game for example: would you buy a new amd x2 pc to play games like pac man and minesweeper on HELL NO
well there selling ps2s for people that can't afford anything and with full backwards compatability they still need to make games for ps2 infact the psx stopped production in nov 2005
na man maybe the big ones but not the little, or maybe i just found this article somewhere uncredible.
"for example: would you buy a new amd x2 pc to play games like pac man and minesweeper on " @kainx, no of course you wouldn't, but what im saying is wouldn't you buy a new amd x2 pc for the great capabilities and to play pac man? Like a ps3, to play other good games with great graphics and play a really good ps2 game "you can't say something as biased as everyone has a ps2 " where the fusk did i say that?
for all we know the only thing that can really compete with the Wii as far as price could actually be the ps2. so i think sony is doing the best thing by lowering the price and to continue to not only sell but push this thing. graphics are graphics as we definately found out the last time around, so combine ps1/ps2 game library to an already affordable price, and not to mention the price of games has lowered, and the ps2 is quite the competitor.....i wonder if or how long the ps2 can/will outsell the ps3??? also another thing to take into consideration, is the fact that the ps3 is not really made soley for "gamers." its more than just a gaming machine, and 600 bucks is quite a bit for just your "casual gamer." take this scenario..... you are a parent or a fairly young child (8-12). $400 is a lot of money for a game machine and $600 is even worse, BUT with the showing that we saw at E3 this year, it would seem that both m$ and sony are not aiming these consoles for the younger generation, but actually older/young adults. an "M" rating on a game is not geared toward younger people. so considering: Halo, MGS, GTA,DMC, GearsofWar(most likely), Hitman, Oblivion Assassin'sCreed(most likely),DOA4, Killzone, ResidentEvil...ETC sony might as well take as much advantage to their already dominated market. if i had a young one running around, the ps2 would seem like a perfect fit (right price..GREAT games). plus, every ps2 sold means....yet another potential addition to sony's already HUGE fanbase.
