well have you tried both discs? Or only one of them? One is cd, one is dvd, they are labeled respectively. If you can get to the boot screen there should be nothing wrong with the disc. If you can't, you should get a refund.

I do not come on this forum to bicker with people. I come to help. I say it is frowned upon, not that it does not work. Different methods work for different people, which you would understand if you had read the entire topic. It is possible that you got lucky with Memorex, as for me, I will never purchase another Memorex product in my life.

hah disc read error...Search around for it, you need to either get new parts, or mess with the laser. In fact, I'm pretty sure there's info about that in this thread!

I have a v12 ps2 and im using magic swap 3.6 + swap tool pro. I cant even get my origonals (that my ps2 has no probs loading without swap magic) to load with swap magic. Is there something wrong with the discs or have installed the tools wrong?

lloyd, describe what happens when you try. From what I understand, originals work, which means your ps2 is fine. Now, when you boot up the swap magic disc, where does it get screwy? Does it mess up at the swap part, at the swap magic disc reading part, or what? More info is needed.

Razor man, thanks for the help. Basically I swap the disc (at the swap disc menu) and it spins the disc for a few seconds then puts the disc brake on. At the screen it comes up wth 'Not valid ps2 disc' at this point i scream %$&*#!. lol, there u have it. It does this for origonals and copies - good ones. That work on other ps2's. Also i try changing the video mode, but that does notion. im pal btw.

lloyd, sorry it's been awhile man but...situations...Anyways, Try booting with the same swap magic on another console. Also, do originals work well in your ps2? If your swap magic works in another ps2, it's your ps2. If it doesn't, you have a defective swap magic.

darks, do some research. This information is everywhere. Also, read the FAQ. It tells you to search before asking.

I just fiddeled with the white cog thing to move the lens device. I got ALL my normal games to work again WITHOUT the loud cranking sound(cept for blue discs).

But now my Swap Magic discs won't read. Do I need to rotate the cog some more????

I have a question. I've already google and searched the forums.

Does Swap magic 3.6 works on SCPH - 10000 model? Which is the oldest, first released, japanese version. I cant find much information on the web.

    thanks

ok so iam going to direct this question to razor because he seems to know what he is talking about.. but please anyone with advice share it.. (fyi i have read around forums alot before becoming a member and posting) soo with that said, just like most of all other people i have Swapmagic 3.6, not the coder. the one that says magic3plus on the disc.. it boots every time, both cd and dvd.. i have a v14 black slimline and i modified it using tools a b and c Slimkit i beleive it was called. with my perticular model of ps2 i had to bend a tiny piece of metal up to fit tool c in, than i bent it back down so nothing rubbed.. i imagine it was all installed correctly because i can now open the top of my ps2 slim while it plays.. anyway. first i tried down loading a couple of games on my PC burnt one with alc 120 and the other with some dvd decryptor. off the bat neither worked it had the blue text "not valid ps2 disc.." wtf.. soo i took mortal kombat and put it in my mac g4 made a 1:1 copy with roxio toast. still blue text. then i tried MK the silver real ps2 game after using SM.. didnt load so i was then like, im really screwed now.. so then i read more forums and found out you can toy with the laser. i didnt really know how so i just found the only switch i could find near the laser its like a little plastic tab that **clicks** with its pushed to the right.. i clicked it a few times and slid the whole laser all the way back (towards rear)
than tried the original MK again.. booted almost instantly after i hit x in SM. so then i figured i was some kind of electrical engineer, so i tried the back up again.. this time the disc spins differently like fast, slower, fast, slower.. over and over but the laster doesnt move. after about 15 seconds the screen goes black and i left it that way for like 10 minutes just to see what happened. nothing did.. i tried gt4 again.. same thing. now i really dont know.. i feel like i just waisted 30 bucks.. anyway to just see if swapmagic works or get a 100% guarenteed usible backup.. sounds dumb but i cant think of anything.. as far as media all i have ever used was the dark purple memorex dvd-r 4.7 gb.. i dont want to go and buy more dvds just to find out it doesnt work.. unless i have some solid proof.. i just figured if anything the direct dvd>dvd-r copy world have been a shure fire way to know.. but damn this stuff is temprimental.. please be expedious in your replys.. im pretty fed up.

    vlad
