PS2 And Swap Magic Help~PLEASE READ~

hey man, ive had this happen to me too (but i was using magic keys)
and i believe the problem was the disc stopper. so id check that and if im not mistaken i remember reading some where that the fliptop is even less reliable thank the magick keys, so if your using slim ps2 why not open it up and tape down the sensors. it works great and it seems to make the dvds boot fastser. hi guys please can you help me im using swap magic 3.6 with a slim line ps2 and burnt sevral games to disc they worked fine i then got rid of the ps2 a few months back i recently bought a new slim line ps2 but i cant get any of my backups to load with it they just come up with not a valid ps2 disc but they worked with the other slim line why not this one? is it possible that my new one wont read dvd+r media i used panasonic disc to burn my games but tried a cheap disc dvd+r i burnt friends the one with the trivia and that loads fine but crashes after a while any help would be great

you need to get either the swap magic keys or remove the slimline lid and tape down the switches do a google search for tapemodding a ps2 slimline for swap magic

 

on youtube a boy just put a black thing on the ps2 then he loads the game. any helps

 

post me a link to it and i will take alook but the easiest way is to undo all the screws on the bottom of the slimline stick some duck tape over the switches that tell the slimline whne the lid is open put it back together and you will now be able to boot the slimline with the lid open and the disc will now keep spinning when the lid is open wait till the swap magic disc stops spinning take it out put your back in and press x on the controller close the lid and bingo your backup will boot

 

do u have any tutorials by image or videos of it when u do that thing would u be able to close the lid.

Ok i have looked at that video the guy isn't using a black thing the method he is using is the tape and tissue mod which is what i was telling you to do before go here and follow the guide

follow the guide to modify your slimline and yes you will be able to close the lid when you get to the step where it tells you to stuff tissue in the censor hole dont just gentle lift the little circuit board out its the power switch circuit board if you look at it closely you will see the little switch on the circuit board just stick the switch down with some tape taking care not to tape over the power switch otherwise you will not be able to switch the ps2 on goodluck it is quit easy to do i have done hundreds

I don't know much about Swap Magic 3.6.
I use either DVD -R or DVD+R with Swap Magic 3.8 and have no problems. I use a good quality brand though, either Verbatim, Ritek, Taiyo Yuden and Sony.
I burn at half my DVD speed and only use DVD Decrypter.

 

Hey man thanx ... But do u know if SwapMagic 3.8 has more support for games than 3.6 .. i mean do more types of formats or games work with it?

 

Well since I have never used a version of Swap Magic before this I cannot say, only that I have not burned a game yet that won't play.
I have backed up more than 50 or more games and played them all even Import games.
They play fine on my V7 and my V14.

Like replied in the other thread that you posted a lot prefer DVD-R over DVD+R, but the quality is important and the speed you burn it at and for me I prefer to use DVD Decrypter to burn them.

I have burned and played Scarface with swap magic... look at my sig.... every single game I have ever burned over the last 2 1/2 years, I have not had one that did not play... I still use swap magic 3.3.. never had a reason to upgrade... If its dvd 9, I just edit it and resize to dvd5 and plays perfect. Far as media I use.. I use the cheapest money will buy... I HAVE NEVER had problems.... whats funny is this cheap of brand I use, I found out is made in the same damn factories as many other expensive brands... Its kinda like food, they make it for a variety of companies, then just label them to whom they sell too... Its all bout $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$............ Anyway... also in my opinion, I have a ver7 ps2, I believe they are one of the best for mod'n.. I have never had problems...most the peps I talk to that have ver7, say the same...

......But i have no other choce i've gotta buy S.M 3.8......
