    HI,
when i inset swap magic 3.6 and it comes up with the loading screen, i insert my backup disc but it reads ot a valid ps2 disc. so i tryed it with just a normal ps2 disc and that worked fine. the media that my backup copy is on is Tuff Disc DVD-R 4x. do you think that it mmite be the media. should i try Verbatim DVD-r.

    cheers

media could be the problem. How are you putting the backup in (fliptop, slide card, etc)?

i have heard of tuff-disk's, they are not the worst, but nor are they the greatest
they are usually old disks that have been re-pressed with a new cover, disguising them so to speak,my advice is to use them for movies,or chuck them for the neighbours dog as frizzbies

Humm, I always use whatever is on sale. I've never had a bad burn on any of them. I think it boils down to how you copy the game, and how fast you burn it. I always burn at 4X, because the deeper the burn, the easier the laser can read the data on the disc.

you have either been really lucky, or your ps2 laser is awesome.

    what does this mean?

i agree with you sly, media is everything when it comes to burning games
using cheapo media is asking for trouble, and no experienced user will recommend buying el cheapo dvd's
after a few months the dye will fade, thus resulting in a useless dvd

@gamer2000,i seen your comments on another thread about your views on media,(the one with the comments about camera film?),you should take me up on my offer
i will send you one of my TY fakes,or even one of CMC disk's
see if this changes your view on this
you must be one of the minority of those registered here who recommends the use of any sort of junk fill scrap disk's

(not having a pop or trying to start something),its just my experience tells me what i know :)

    regards hursty
