please help; i just installed the dms 4 ez chip. I get a message saying the chip is disabled. i was told to put a disc in with toxic flash on it and hit reset to enable the chip. it is not working; it always goes to the browser and system config. any help would be appreciated.

    uh, newb, wrong thread buddy.

and uh, other retard, why would you download a swap magic cd? if you need the swap magic it means you dont have a mod chip. and if you dont have a mod chip you cant use a burned copy of a swap magic disk.

    but thanks for coming out!

people are just too lazy, there are sooo much forums with the info stinky is doing and he charges money. Just start reading at http://www.ps2newz.net/ for free, people are just too lazy. So stink have u figured how to use nego emu, it may be for one rom but it can work also and by Christmas we will have the gba emu.

If you go the beggining of this thread it has a step by step of exactly how to do what I did.

But people are too lazy, or to incompetent with computers to figure it out. Thats why I charge for it. People that put in the effort can have it for free. People who dont put in the effort can pay me for my effort!

Hmm just read it, wow lazyness runs rampant, I personnal use PS2menu, and i have gotten all my elfs to run off a boot Cd. I have been on your site and i donot see the nego emu as part of your elfs. Also most of the problems other lazy people have can be sloved with cdgenPS2 software, the trick is to FIX the LBA value in cdgen. Boot cds work great if u are willing to read, now i just need a ps2 controller that has reset so i donot have to get up everytime :)

buy a mod chip, have it installed

Then buy my AIO disk and burn it to a cd.

    Play it.

I dont know what YOU can do. I know that I can!

There are MANY threads about running it off a disk and what you need. Why dont you read them.

well... im happy to finally come to undesrtand how the process goes to run custom elf files on my ps2...
unfortunately, what i discovered is not so nice...
    my ps2 DOESNT run them...
I used ARMAX to test USBADV.ELF and USBEXTREME.ELF and when i select to open them, it looks like if its gonna load the app but it doesnt...
    (at least for those 2)
I've tested with 5 diff apps so far
    USBADV.ELF - FAILED
    USBEXTREME.ELF - FAILED
    MCFORMAT.ELF - WORKED
    HDLOADER.ELF - FAILED
    PS2LINK.ELF - FAILED

im really bummed... well not bummed.. actually confused... cuz if it was that it couldnt play ANY elf file at least I would know where to look but this way i honestly dont know what happens..
anybody with a clue on whats wrong here???

You can't download a PS2 boot cd. In order to boot it, you need a modchip or an original boot disc ot boot it. A PS2 will never read copies EVER (unless its a dvd movie, which I'm not sure about).

There's nothing I hate more than people who don't take advantage of the search function. SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST YOU NOOBS!!!

Even though that was off topic, I'll still help you. You can get either of the 2 which don't require soldering (the 2nd one requires a screwdriver, so be ready to take something apart), but you WILL need the 3rd item in order to make one of the first two be usefull:

    http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16259&cat=269&page=1

    or

    http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16213&cat=269&page=1

    AND YOU NEED THIS

    http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16227&cat=269&page=1

Thats the cheapest place I could find (I bought the disks at modchip.com, not .ca, for cheaper but had to wait about 3-4 weeks for delivery). Use Google to find out how to install them (although they do come with instructions).

Yes magus57, I understand about using all those. I *hoped* there was a way to still use MC exploits but (once & for all, for anyone w/ a v12+) [bold]the Independence MC exploit can not be used on any PSTwo slimlines, at all![/bold] I wish ppl would stop saying there is (noobs), but Stinky_1 & two other members confirmed that....no MC exploits with v12+
There is a solution to using an external HDD w/ a slimline. This: http://www.modchipstore.com/XCM-HD-Connect-PS2-Hard-Disk-Combo-16279.html as well as this: http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=5497
I want my HDD back s0ny!
