thanks stinky for all the hard work, this works great except I cant save the config, but I can deal with that later.

I am not sure how imbnes, and if you follow its instructions properly and run the rombank.exe. then make the iso then if thats the only thing you wanted you can burn the CD (so it says, i dont have time to try right now as I am at work.)

If you extract the files out of the ISO file that the ROM you get 4 files.

    system.cnf
    nes.exe.
    saveicon.bmp
    rombank.bin

I would think if you add those to the base of the CD that if you select one of the files it will work.

I will test tonight when I get home.

what I dont understand is how the nes.exe runs on the ps2. Unless it is really a .elf file setup with a different extension for windows to reconize it? but who knows.

Like I said I havnt played with it much.

SWFX, I wish I knew what the deal was with it not saving. You are saying that with a MC in slot one, and 1 mb of space you can load the disk, then setup launchelf and when you start the ps2 again it wont have saved the config file? Or you want it to be on the Cd for sure?

I remember reading somewhere that you could put it on the CD but I really dont remember where I saw it. Also you may have the file system wrong. How did you decide what it needed to be called?

It may be like keylauncher though. Keylauncher wont run the .dat file from the CD either. it HAS to have it on the MC. But that file is much larger. And if they both needed it on the MC anyway I figured it was much esier to just have it auto save the 2kb of data that it needs to save. I will see if I can dig up some more info. Or even track down the author of the app in the first place.

Well I just made a IMBnes disc as per the instructions on the site and I can tell you that it doesnt work on the PS2. Maybe you need AR to boot it cuz its "suppose" to be a PSX disc, but I know for a fact that it doesnt run with SMD.

you can use infones on stinkys disc for nes roms and infgb for gameboy, but both are pretty crappy........ i've got them to work but it doubles the rom playlist and with sound it freezes alot...

and that is the reason I dont have a NES emulator on my disk. Besides, most the good nes games were ported to snes.

Thanks Stinky! Right now, I would be happy with it saving either way (MC or reading an edited one from the CD) I can't get the config loaded either way. Tracking down the author or even a freakin readme file is the real challenge with LaunchELF. Is there another ELF launcher that I might try that actually has documentation?

does the not saving the config thing have anything to do with how you burn the disk? IE: finalize it, disk at once, track at once, ect?

you can try keylauncher. But its less user freindly and it HAS to run from the MC, you cant put it on a cd and run it. Thats why I went with launchelf. It was the ONLY app I could find that would use the least amount of space on the MC.

I still just dont understand why it isnt saving it to the MC. Finalizing the CD should have nothing to do with it.

Are you using my latest Disk? It has the newest version of launchelf. It looks like I was using 3.33 before and now it has 3.4 final on it. That could make a difference.

Also when you load into launchelf it says where it loaded the config settings from. Right at the top of the screen there. I dont know if that is the default for it or what but I doubt it can be changed either.

Either way there is not much more I can do. I am still working on finding the author. Or at least contact info for him. I did find a read me for it but its all garbled text. SO I suspect he does not speak english as a language. That makes it even more fun!!!

Hey, sorry i've been busy all today. Swfx, Here is a quick tutorial for you and all the peopel to save using Stinky's disk. This was completely by accident yet it's genius!

k start off my going to config. Then cfg any of the buttons, and then make it set to Misc: File browser, run it.

It will take you to a screen that looks like you're in still in LaunchELF, cuz u r :D

Go to mc0: then push r1 and push make Dir. Call it SYS-CONF. And guess what, just reset your playstation, and set your config. 100% save, anything for u STINKY!

I will give it a try later on to see if I can make it a little more clear. Then I will add it to the readme.

    Great job guys!

That is awesome! Thank you SO much! I guess I will just have to request a mc from people when I mod their systems. I was hoping to just give them a disk, but I can work with this. Thanks again.

Stinky, as i was recommending, i think you should add hdl_dump 0.7.3 to your cd instead of fap_link. It seems to have a lot more bugs, and really affects how much u can send(2 gb limit). With ftp transfer, hdl_dumb is a lil slower, instead of 1 hour 30 min for 5 gig file, it take 2 h 5 min. Not a big difference, but it is an excellent source for ftp transfer if you can't connect the hd to your pc. Also, let me know if u are having trouble with anything, i'll take a look into it. I'm not very smart but very lucky hah. Thanx Stinky, u've helped a lot

I cant get seem to get the sega master system emulator to work. It boots up fine but when I try to enter the folder where the roms r it says there are no roms and for me to push start. Then it kicks me back out to where I can see the folder for SNES, Genesis and the Sega master system rom folders are.

How do I get it working?

well first off are your sega master sys roms in the right folder
i think you might have put them in your genesis folder or the other way round

one more thing make sure that your sega master system files have the right extension---for that system cause sometimes when you download it they have different extension or name---and also the snes roms i think might have an extension just like master system---b sure i think sega master sys is .smc
