I have been using the exploit to boot ELF's on my ps2 for some time now, but for some reason, my PS2 won't detect the hard drive anymore. I've checked the hard drive, the network adapter, the memory card, the ELF's, and nothing seems to solve the problem. I'm guessing that its my PS2, but there's no reason for it to suddenly stop working on my. It runs games off of DVDs fine. I do have one lead though. When it boots from the memory card, the memory card browser says "MC database unavailable". I'm guessing that is the problem, but I don't know what that means or what it implies. Is there any way for my to diagnose what the problem is?

I would guess the same as above.
Try getting a new memory card, putting on the exploit and seeing if that works. You will of course probably loose all the game saves on the old one unless your PS2 browser shows them and you can copy them to the new card.
