    I have a PS2 SCPH-70012 Slim.

My ps2 spins the disc very slow, stops for half a second and spins it very slow again. It keeps doing that in an endless cycle, and I cant event turn it off, I have to unplug it.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

Not sure why it won't turn off, but have you tried to clean your laser.

Also make sure the ribbon cable is in securely to the laser

If none of that helps, then you probably need a new laser.

I tried cleaning the laser and the ribbons seem to be connected fine.

It might've broke doing the ps1 backup swap too many times, is there a way to fix this?

You could try replacing the laser and see if that fixes it

I use fmcb 1.8 and uLe to swap PS1 backups
Its posted in my profile, only need to do the first four steps.

That way the disc is stopped when swapping.

You have a V12, and they are noted for overheating or burning the coils on the laser out.

You could try unplugging it for about 15 minutes. I don't really know if that will help or not.
