I have a version 4 PS2 and I opened it so that I can put in a new reset/eject ribbon. I tried my PS2 then and it wont boot any games and it gets stuck at the browser screen. I can move up or down or anything. What could be the problem? Thanks for the help.
ok i got it to get past the browser screen. And it says " Disk Read Error". So now im going to open the PS2 and clean the white laser gear. Hopefully that will help because it is making lound grinding noises.
that is probally what i would suggest next. Be carefull though, make sure you know what you are doing.
Could be, I think you should try and re-calibrate the height of the laser. Did you just clean the laser with a q-tip or move the little white gear?
