Forget about worrying about copying backup CD's to the hard drive... has anyone thought about this:

Rent a brand new release game at Blockbuster/Hollywood Video for $5, bring it home and copy it to your HD, return your rental!!!

I see this program causing havoc with Sony and the game makers saying "Sales of games are decreasing". I did purchased hdloader for personal use - my daughter screams about loading times (I'm annoyed with some games as well) so I figured I would try it. Also bought a Maxtor 120GB at nt-micro for $73. If hdloader isn't all it's cracked up to be, I can use the HD in my computer, so I'm only out $29 for the hdloader program.

Just wanted to warn anyone ordering from "divineo.com" that they are either crooks or incompetent idiots. I tried to order HDLoader from them. Please note our communications below.

To make a long story short. They canceled my order without my permission. I asked them why. After making me wait, they clarified that the order was just taking longer. Then after making me wait even longer, they casually informed me that my "order is cancelled.. i cannot un-cancel it".

Just a warning to all you guys out there.

Ok. Your email further below said that the order was canceled. But now that you said that it has not been canceled, I will wait for it.

I'm sorry I don't understand. I would like to clarify if my order has been:

    a) canceled or
    b) just taking longer to process

    Please explain.

Why has this been cancelled? I requested for a change in shipping address. Have all orders been cancelled and transferred to the UK?

I actually got this thing July 1st. I love it!!!

For certain games that have a huge load time, this thing cuts them in half. Sometimes eliminates it almost completely.

    Yes Pretty much.

I could not get Syphon Filter Omega strain to work nor Destruction Derby. I am sure there will be serveral others that will not work. The PS2 has a vast library, so there will bew plenty of game that will work.

    Hey guys,
Question, I have a bunch of my backups but will they work to use to install in the HD? Or do I need the originals for the games to work on the HD? Also, will my patched dnas games work, like socom 2?

    thanks,
    X

You need a backup method to put backups onto the hdd. The dnas test will fail, as has been stated numerous times on the official site in the faq page. you know what faq stands for right?

The tutorial for copying games in the FAQ page, the link is in my signature. I've never heard of anyone using the xbox hdd in their ps2 (mostly because they like it in their xbox) but you can try. talk of illegal downloading is not permitted here.

this is a reply to Ender88...

The HDLoader version that is currently out does not allow us to save game progress on a HDD. But I went to modchipworld.com's store to buy my copy of HDLoader and the guy that sold it to me told me that there was a newer version being created and it was going to come out in about 6 months. This new version would enable us to save game progress on a HDD and also save movies and music on our PS2! They might also find a way to make all games compatible (like the DNAs games and DVD9 games). We will be able to download the new version but will only be able to use it if we bought the first HDLoader (the one out right now). The upgrade will be free, and since you already have the first version, you already paid for it and that's why it's free. This is all the info i have right now, but expect to hear more about this upgrade later on during the year. It's still a little early to know everything that the creators of the HDLoader are going to do. It's still not coming out before another 6 months.
I have my own copy of the original version and it works great! I have a Maxtor 80GB HDD. Loading times are almost gone! This IS the best thing you would ever want for your PS2!!!

PLUS, it's going to be even better!

DanN7650, unless you want to get out the Dremel and sand away, it won't fit.

the only major mod you have to do is remove the plate, unscrew the power and grind a small bit from the left so the na plate can screw back in, the power is fairly lose in the first place, i have found no problem with leaving it unscrewed.
