    hi all.

just got my ps2 chipped with messiah 2 just to find out out it won't play dvdr. tired diff media and some were recognised by ps2 but some not.

adjusted the angle of the laser and cleaned the lens, and now it can play dvdr approx 20% of the time.

my question is: do u think laser is worn out? and needs replacing?

does any one know a realible site where i can get a laser chaep and brand new in UK (cheapest i can find is £50)

    NB. i have a 400c laser

As you can see here:- http://www.gocybershop.ca/product_details.asp?ID=1885

It is supposed to do a direct boot of DVD backups...

However, if would properly be your laser. But if you "just" got your Messiah 2, it shouldn't be too bad. Did you damage the PS2 in any way before you got it chipped?

Also bear in mind lasers wear out after 2-3 years.

I would probably try replacing your laser, cleaning the laser simply doesn't cut it.
