For refference sake, my PS2 is modded with Messiah 2 Chip. This morning my PS2 was working fine, I was playing some games through a SNES Emulator, and while it was loading I accidently pressed the reset button. Now when I start the PS2, it starts up fine, but it doesnt attempt to load the game/DVD, it doesnt even spin the CD. Also, in the Browser the memory card now shows that it's empty for some reason. I'm assuming it's stuffed now, so I'll just buy a new one - My question (finally) is that if I get a new one, is it possible to get someone who does mods to simply take the mod chip out of this one and put it in the new one? To save me from having to pay for a new chip. Thanks..
My PS2 is SCHP-50002 - What versions does the Messiah 2 Chip support? Or will I have to buy the same version?
Not 100% sure, but your mod chip will probably not work on another PS2 unless you get the same version PS2. How's that emulator thing work and how do you go about getting one?
Here's the webpage for the Emulator: 'http://snes-station.gamebase.ca Then you just download normal SNES Roms off the net and burn them onto the same CD. But you should be warned.... While it's loading a game - [bold]don't touch it![/bold] I certainly wont be using anything other than PS2 games and DVDs on my next one.
pressing reset while its loading shouldn't have stuffed it, but it could have been you ps2 dying, how old was it?
It's about 6 months old. It's not actually dead, it just doesn't spin up the disks anymore and shows the memory card as empty. Im guessing that when I pressed reset while it was half-way through loading something kinda messed with it's mind.
alphatech...I downloaded a bunch of snes rom's and they are all winzip files. do i have to extract them and burn the extractions onto a cd or just burn the zipped files onto a cd?
if you want to know how to use the snes station, read the documentation! everything you need to know is already on the website(and snes-station forums). in case you couldn't find it: http://snes-station.gamebase.ca/files/snes_cd_020.pdf follow those instructions carefully. make sure your roms are in at least one folder. eppepper9: yes you can use zip files! the zip files i use even contain text and html files and they all work perfectly fine. anyways sorry, WAY off topic. can you go back to the person who modded your ps2 and get him to check it out? if resetting it at an inopportune time caused the problem, which i highly doubt, try to unplug the ps2 for about 30 seconds to a minute, plug it back in and power it up. anyways, since the messiah 2 that you have is compatible with your V10 (SCPH-50002) ps2, it should work with most other PS2's but probably not the new slimline PStwo. refer to this website: http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2520 it will work fine with any of those model numbers listed (V10 or lower)
