ps2 modding help

im not new to the ps2 but i finally got another one last week and iv been reading up on modding it and i am wondering the cheepest (but good) way to mod a ps2 all i mainly wish to do with it is play games off a hdd is there a easy and cheep way to do this?? thanks

cheap and easy. Buy yourself a software called HD Loader or HD Advance and don't forget to check your hard drive against the hd compatibility list
