ps2 modification

    first to start things off i am trying to see what model ps2's that i have..also need to know if i need a chip to play duplicated games? which chip should i go with...and can anyone explain to me why do i need a chip to play games but i can play duplicated movies. thanks...

    the reason your ps2 need a chip or a bootdisk(swapmagic,gameshark,action reply)is because ps2 games have a bad sector which today's dvd/cd burners correct it(No way to stop it)
    so basically the chip or disk gives the ps2 the bad sector info to let you play the game.

    movies have no bad sector that are corrected
