When connecting my hdd network adapter to my (fat ps2) system,it causes the game to malfunction and freeze.

    Things i've tried
    -New and different discs
-Cleaned laser lens and dust out
-leaving adapter off til in main game menu then connecting causing it to freeze seconds later

can anyone donate a adapater =| if new one is needed?

lol, I hardly think anyone will donate you a Network Adaptor.

If your games play fine without the adaptor, then most likely is the adaptor.

Are you playing games online? Is this with backups or Original games the problem arises.
If backups, are you sure you patched correctly.

Did you run the Network disc or online setup too see if it is connecting.

And remember not all PS2 games are online anymore.

I can't say I have heard of this issue from anyone else.

I had two at one time, but sold my last one early this summer.

Are you connecting the PS2 through a router or a pc.

Ok maybe it is the adaptor then.

Cause you said previous you left adaptor off until game menu.

Were you in the multiplayer, set up "LAN", then connect the adaptor , wait a few seconds or so,then press 'Lan'

That was a brilliant suggestion, didnt know why i didnt think of it.

I went to the network setup first, then added the device,it reads Error:No hardware is connected.Make sure hardware is connected.Return to network settings menu.

I appreciate u going through this with me,greatest respects.

Ok no problem, but before you added device by pressing square, you plugged in your network adaptor.

Or try plugging in the network adaptor, then go to multiplayer and see what happens?
