ps2 on but only a black screen

    Hi everyone!!! My girls ps2 30001 need some help. It turns on,but only a black screen apears.Tried cables,tv,games,FCMB,cd. It does't boot up on ofw or FCMB. Thanks for your help!!!

    It could be a blown fuse. You would have to take it apart and check the fuses with a voltmeter.
    From what I have read, it could be PS11 fuse, but I could be wrong.

    Then you would want good soldering skills, and you have to remove the fuse and replace it.

    You can pick up a PS2 at ebgames or gamestop for like $60

    Your fmcb 1.8 would work on it.

    The motherboard is a gh-010 cant find the fuses!

    The gh-010 is a v4 PS2.

    So they should be the same fuse locations as the gh-012 in this download of ps2 fuses pics - link

    Let me know if its not,and I will try to find.

    I cheked all of them and they messure continuity. I think is like it has no video or sound output.When i turn it on,the tv blue screen turns black,like briked!.I was putting a new hd,I created a new partition and the ps2 froze.Turn it off and then on and that was it!! Should i let it RIP? It's been 8 years of use!

    I would think 8 years of use on that model has done good. I think I would let it RIP, yes

    It could be a chip also. Is hard to say.

    Time for newer model.
