its not the video, because it plays perfectly fine on my computer. Could it be that the ps2 cant handle the amount on data being processed? and how do you make ps2 reality load from the memory card?
Yah I experience that promblem also, but not with all movies, it could be that its to big for the ps2 to handle. If you want it on the memory card, Load up the ps2 reality oyu get this menu Applications In The MC Load Media Player from MemCard Load Media Player from CDROM Load Media Player from Ps2vfs Memory Card Manager Configure IP go to memory card manager and then go to install on mem card
Whats that Applications from MC option for? and also...could the skipping video be caused by a badly fragmented hdd and 50+ft of CAT5 cable to travel through?
im not completely sure what apps in the m.c are, i dont have my ps2 right now. i dont think its because of that, but it could be that when you converted the movie to divx or xvid it didnt convert it proporaly. As i said, it happens to me with some movies, but not all. It plays fine on my computer but not on the ps2, also remeber that ps2 reality it homebrew app and in beta, so it will have bugs in it.
I followed the guide but when I boot using the cdr, it goes into the 'playstation screen' (black screen with the the word playstation) then, nothing happens. What could be the problem?
What steps did you take? What method are you playin your backups? What did you use to create and burn your image?
First of all. My english isnt the best but I hope that you will understand what Im trying to explain here. I followed this guide using TDK 800MB CDs. My PS2 got Messiah 2. I Used CDRWIN. Burned in 1X speed. Used movie files with the ".Avi" ending encoded to divx. I burned 2 cds. After burning the first one I noticed that the files had rearranged themselves (they wasnt sorted as when I used cdgenps2. The guide told me to put the movie last in the filelist..so I did so...but after burning the cd the movie was placed on the top of the list). The cd was completed succefully and when I put it in my PS2 it loaded. I came to the Ps2 Reality menues, making the configurations the guide was telling me, but when I tried to play the movie..the loading text came up...and the ps2 started to load the disk making strange noises...after quite a while...a new short textline appeared isntead of the loading text..it stood something like this.."No Avi file in index"... I burned a new cd now renaming the movie to ZZZ to be sure that it would be put last in the filelist even if the burner rearranged the files....I tried to load the cd...and just as before everything worked fine until I tried to run the movie...the same error text poped up after a long and strange noisy loading. What can be the problem here??? And what is the normal loading time for a movie? PS. My gameplay screen have always been litte centrated to the left. After running the PS2 reality disk I tried to play a ordinary game and then it felt like the screen was moved a litte more to the left than before. Can this be true or is it just me beeing paranoid that the PS2 Reality should have damage my hardware? Thank you.
Hi Im after some help here, im led to believe that you can get Ps2 Reality to work on unmodded/unchipped Ps2's, like straight from the box. So far ive read the guides and created the CD's successfully and everything, ive uploaded the mcloader and mediaplayer to my memory card and I can load up to the Ps2 Reality mediaplayer screen, but when I put a CD-R in which has the .avi file along with the rest of the files needed, it simply doesnt pick anything up. I first uploaded all the stuff round at my m8s on his chipped Ps2 and i managed to get those CD-R's playing, as his is chipped, although the playback did keep stuttering and jerking etc.. So basically could someone please help me with gettin this to work or tell me the truth to whether it can work ot not on a unmodded Ps2? Mark
don't quote me on this, but I believe for an unchipped ps2, you need to use a slide card or fliptop, but as I said, don't quote me on this..
Does anyone know ? What are the restrictions / formats which have to be used for the media ? I created a media disk containing MP3s, JPGs and one small DIVX film MP3 Audio is working fine but when i am selecting an JPG it does not get displayed and after a short diskaccess just shows "The End". when i am selecting the DIVX movie it starts after some preparation - buit after 4 seconds it agains shows "getting buffers ..." and hangs. I am using a PS2 SHCP-39004 (V7) DMS3 V2 Modchip with 16c Kernel PSReality Media Player 1.50 booted from Memory Card The Media Disk was prepared thru CDGENPS2, CDMAGE and Nero 6 (CUE Sheet) The JPEGs are of the Original Size (1280x1024) The DIVX Movie was created by Pinnacle TREX DivX Codec 5.01
hi having same problems as spider and everything is set up the way it should. mine even says The end on small avi files. does anyone know how to fix this error?
What i was dong is jsut burning the AVI file to a cdrw and i have the media player on a seperate cd... i put the cdr in boot up the media player than take the media player out and put the avi cd in and play it that way.... it works but after 20 mins i get in big letters THE END and it locks up at that point... is it cuz i dont have the media player on the same folder as the movie ? do i need to burnt he media player witht he every movie ?
Quality!!! This is first rate. I ignored the Nero advice and carried on regardless with Nero Ultra. No problems at all my PS2 is a version 4. I used the CD image creator (CDgenPS2) by dragging the files into the window along with the avi (divx and xvid worked fine), then saving the image and burning with Nero Ultra. Hey presto, one playable avi!!! Total time 20 minutes, allowing for my 8x CDRW. Thanks robert34, so much easier than expected.
well basically this programme is nothing but perfect for me in every sense...movies work, mp3s etc..i use alcohol 120% to burn them on 12X on 700 mb disks and there totally perfect. :/ I was just wondering can u put multi avi files on there and they play one after another...
you can with the dvd version i have a question i have tried to make one of my dvd's into an avi file but when i open up smart ripper it says no aspi driver found and then some of the files are locked when it is gathering them up how do i fix it?
